Manchali Padosan is a 2015 Hindi movie directed by Suresh Jain and starring Hitesh Kriplani, Zoya Rathore, Sunita Singh and Ramesh Raj. The movie is a comedy drama that revolves around the life of a young man who falls in love with his neighbour, a married woman who is unhappy with her husband. The movie is a remake of the 1978 Tamil movie Aval Oru Thodar Kathai, which was also remade in Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.

The movie follows the story of Raju, a young man who lives with his mother and sister in a small apartment. He works as a salesman in a shop and dreams of becoming rich and successful. He is attracted to his neighbour, Rani, who is a beautiful and charming woman. Rani is married to Ramesh, a wealthy businessman who neglects her and often cheats on her with other women. Rani is unhappy with her marriage and feels lonely and bored.

Raju tries to woo Rani by sending her flowers, gifts and letters. He also helps her with her household chores and tries to make her laugh. Rani initially ignores Raju's advances but gradually develops a friendship with him. She finds him innocent, honest and caring. She also enjoys his company and attention. Raju confesses his love for Rani and asks her to elope with him. Rani is confused and scared. She likes Raju but she is afraid of the consequences of leaving her husband.

Meanwhile, Raju's mother and sister are worried about his obsession with Rani. They try to convince him to forget her and focus on his career. They also arrange his marriage with a girl named Pooja, who is the daughter of their landlord. Raju agrees to marry Pooja but he still loves Rani. He hopes that Rani will change her mind and run away with him.

On the day of his wedding, Raju gets a letter from Rani saying that she has decided to leave her husband and come with him. Raju is overjoyed and leaves his bride at the altar. He goes to meet Rani at the railway station. However, he finds out that the letter was a prank played by Ramesh, who had found out about Raju and Rani's affair. Ramesh had written the letter to humiliate Raju and teach him a lesson. He also reveals that he has filed a divorce case against Rani and has taken away all her money and jewellery.

Raju is heartbroken and shattered. He realizes that he has lost both Rani and Pooja. He also loses his job and his home. He wanders on the streets, begging for food and money. He regrets his foolishness and stupidity. He curses himself for ruining his life for a woman who never loved him.

Bollywood Hungama gave the movie 0.5 stars out of 5 and wrote: "Manchali Padosan is a pathetic attempt at comedy that fails miserably on all counts. The movie is an insult to the intelligence and sensibility of the viewers. The movie has nothing to offer except some cheap thrills and vulgar jokes. The movie is a waste of time and money. Avoid it at all costs."

Rediff gave the movie 1 star out of 5 and wrote: "Manchali Padosan is a disgrace to the name of cinema. The movie is a crude and crass remake of a classic Tamil movie that had a strong message and a powerful performance by Sujatha. The movie is a mockery of the original and a mockery of the audience. The movie is a torture to watch and a pain to endure. The movie is a disaster in every sense of the word."

The Times of India gave the movie 1.5 stars out of 5 and wrote: "Manchali Padosan is a poor excuse for a comedy that tries to cash in on the popularity of the 1968 cult classic Padosan. The movie is a pale and pathetic imitation of the original that had a brilliant cast, a hilarious plot and memorable songs. The movie is a dull and boring affair that lacks humour, charm and entertainment. The movie is a disappointment on all levels."
